An Independence Day event celebrating freedom, surf culture and beach party fun, featuring tubular tunes, a dog fashion show, patriotic tie-dye, beach games, BINGO, our annual chalk art contest, and a beach rock lip sync battle! Wear your Hawaiian shirt, bring a lei for your pooch and join us for a far out Fourth!!

General Competition Rules for Chalk Art Competition, Dog Fashion Show, Lip Synch Battle

1. Sign ups open at 11am on July 4th and are first come, first served
2. Winners must be present for awards announcements at 4pm to claim their prize.  

Chalk Art Competition Rules
Winning Categories are Youth (6-12), Teen (13-17), Adult (18+), Most Patriotic, Most Creative

1. Participants can only use BCA provided chalk.
2. Participants artwork must stay inside the provided space.
3. Artwork must be completed between 11am and 3pm on July 4th.

Dog Fashion Show Competition Rules
Winning Categories are Most Patriotic, Most Creative, and Best Beachwear

1. Each dog owner gets one entry and one prize regardless of the number of dogs.
2. Costumes and/decorations are provided by the dog owner.
3. Dogs must be well behaved and friendly to humans and other dogs.  Any demonstrations of aggression will result in disqualification.
4. Owners must clean up after their dogs.  Any observation of abandoned waste will result in disqualification.
5. Summit County leash laws apply.

Beach Boys Lip Sync Battle Rules

1. Participants can enter as a solo act or group act but cannot participate as both.
2. “Beach rock” songs from 1950-1975 are eligible to be performed.
3. Songs and performances must be family friendly.

Participants will be judged on lip sync ability and showmanship.  This includes facial and bodily expressions, choreography, props, and appearance. Winners will be determined by a combination of BCA judges and audience enthusiasm.  Winning Categories are bronze, silver and gold.
