Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she’s disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby’s father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she’s determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer. (PG-13, 100 minutes)
Part of the LateNite @ the District series, a free, weekly outdoor summer concert and movie series that takes place in the Breckenridge Arts District.
Also at LateNite @ the District, starting at 9:45 pm, BreckCreate teams up with the Breckenridge Film Festival to screen selected shorts before the evening’s main feature film at 10 pm. The short films screened represent a sample of films that can be seen at the annual Breckenridge Film Festival, which takes place each fall on the third weekend of September. These are favorite shorts from recent years and showcase the diversity of film programming the festival presents at the flagship fall event and throughout the year. This year’s Breckenridge Film Festival runs September 17-20, 2015. More info at: breckfilmfest.com
