Work on personal glassblowing/lampworking and metalsmithing projects in this supervised open studio workshop.  Prior to attending, participants must take a class on campus or be able to demonstrate experience with the respective medium.

Metalsmithing participants must bring their own materials. Glassblowing materials are available for purchase. Tools are available for both mediums.

Participants must be 15 or older to participate.

All participants, even pre-registered, are required to check-in at Old Masonic Hall, 136 S. Main St., prior to class. Please allow a minimum of 10 minutes prior to class start for registration process.

Learn the art of flameworking (a form of glassblowing) by developing and honing your skills. Work with a torch and flame to melt glass rods into works of art and explore the possibilities of Borosilicate glass. Your creativity will blossom as you craft pendants, beads, marbles and so much more. Safety is an extremely high priority in this class. Please wear natural fiber clothing (such as cotton or wool) and if possible, we encourage student with glasses to wear contact lenses.

Participants must be 15 or older to participate. The cost of the class includes materials, use of tools, and other studio equipment.

A class fitted to all skill levels, beginner-advanced, where we will use basic techniques and build upon them to make glass projects. We will use a variety of tools to help us accomplish this vision. Squishing, carving, sculpting, and even cutting glass to make familiar patterns. Come join the fun and witness the seemingly endless possibilities that glass can accomplish!

Participants must be 15 or older to participate. The cost of the class includes materials, use of tools, and other studio equipment.

 

Weekly Projects:

-Abstract Ornaments (1/11-1/18)

-Do you want to make a snowman? (1/25-2/1)

-Hunk of Burning Love: Glass Hearts (2/8-2/15)

-Make your own luck: 4-leaf clovers (3/14-3/21)

-Spring Flowers: Two class progression into flower making (4/11-4/18)
