BIFA: Proposal Submissions

  • Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA)
    August 10–19, 2018
A multi-arts program of extraordinary events in spectacular places and spaces across Breckenridge. Inspired by themes of environment and mountain culture, the 10-day festival brings together an eclectic mix of music, dance, film, visual arts and family entertainment.

Breckenridge Creative Arts is seeking proposals from visual and performance artists for installations and performances that are themed around our natural environment. Venues are primarily outdoors; however, there are limited indoor venues that will be included in this event. Contemporary works that are accessible to all ages are preferred.

Proposal deadline: Friday, April 27, 2018 at 5 pm

Please be aware that we cannot respond or offer assessment and feedback to every submission individually. All submissions will receive an email acknowledgement. All proposals are reviewed and if your submission is being considered for inclusion in BIFA, we will contact you.

BIFA is a curated festival and participation is by invitation only, with artists and productions selected by the BCA programming team. Guiding the selection process are four main programming criteria: artistic excellence, collaboration, relevance and accessibility. As well, one of BCA’s objectives is support work that is a commission, premiere or exclusive appearance. Selected artists will receive a stipend for work and housing will be provided during installation dates.

It is also important to note that because of our desire to bring Breckenridge exciting new work for a specific 10-day period, BCA cannot support local remounts of productions, or provide marketing support to other arts or cultural projects that happen during our festival dates.

Thank you for your interest. We look forward to learning more about your project.
