LightCycles: A Community Bike Ride @ Psycle9600
May 30 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

LightCycles is an event that encourages local cyclists to light up their bikes for a parade through the WAVE exhibition site. Riders should gather between 7-8pm at Psycle9600 (505 S Main Street) with pre-decorated bikes, or gear up onsite with free glow swag, and ride from 8-9pm. Participants are encouraged to use reusable lights. This event is a co-produced with the Cycle Effect and Psycle9600.

LightCycles is a featured activity at WAVE: Light + Water + Sound, an exhibition of cutting-edge works of contemporary public art presented from May 30–June 2, 2019. The free four-night festival features interactive artworks, temporary installations and performances in and around the Blue River Plaza in downtown Breckenridge, transforming the river, bridges and waterfront area into outdoor canvases, stages and exhibition spaces.

Funding for WAVE is generously provided by the Town of Breckenridge and the National Endowment for the Arts, with media support from Mountain Living.

Illuminate Local is a program that shines a light on downtown businesses, merchants and organizations during the annual WAVE festival.

DETAILS + HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  • In exchange for showcasing two (2) customized WAVE luminaries and providing WAVE brochures at your establishment,  local businesses will be acknowledged by BCA as partners. 
  • Optional for businesses to provide WAVE discount/offer throughout the festival.

To participate, business representatives are invited to attend a private pre-WAVE BBQ event on the Arts District campus, along with a sneak peek of festival installations on Wed, May 29 from 4–7pm. Business representatives will be able to collect their luminaries and other WAVE collateral at this event. BCA will provide supplies for up to 50 businesses. Reserve your spot today!
