Thu Kim Vu received her BFA from Hanoi University of Fine Arts (Vietnam) and her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work encompasses line drawing, paper material, and the use of temporary space. Through her travels, she creates unique line drawings that directly respond to the atmosphere of each space she visits. Thu has participated in numerous national and international residencies including: Kamiyama Artist-in-Residence Program, Mino Paper Art Village and Sapporo Artist-in-Residence Program. Over the past three years, Thu’s interest in Japanese culture along with her study of Washi paper has led her to experiment with paper light sculptures.
